# ALTİD Logo Design Specification — v11

**Version:** 11 (Sun Overflow)
**Style:** Woodcut / Linocut
**Format:** SVG
**Canonical filename:** `logo-master.svg`

---

## Overview

The ALTİD logo is an emblem rendered in a **woodcut/linocut print aesthetic**. It depicts, from top to bottom: a warm cream sky with a large amber sun, a red three-faced tower silhouette at left, and three horizontal landscape bands — nature/green, sand, and sea/blue — each tapering in a consistent diagonal direction from left (wider, higher) to right (narrower, lower). The woodcut texture is achieved through SVG displacement-map filters applied to every element.

As of v11 the sun is drawn in full rather than clipped: the canvas is enlarged beyond the emblem's cream background rectangle so the sun's complete disc overflows the top-right corner. The background rectangle still only covers the original 200×220 area, so the region the sun bleeds into stays transparent — the overall silhouette is irregular (a rectangle with the sun's full disc overflowing its top-right corner) rather than a clipped rectangle.

The design encodes five key references of Alanya: the Alanya Castle tower, Mediterranean sunlight, coastal nature, the beach, and the sea.

## Canvas

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| `viewBox` | `0 -70 270 290` |
| Background rectangle | `0,0` to `200,220` (portrait, ~10:11) — covers only the original canvas, not the enlarged viewBox |
| Coordinate origin | Top-left of the background rectangle (`0,0`); the viewBox extends 70 units above and 70 units right of it to fit the full sun |

All coordinates below are in viewBox units (i.e. relative to the background rectangle's origin, not the enlarged viewBox's own top-left).

## Woodcut Filters

Two SVG filters simulate the ink-bleed and edge roughness of a linocut print. **Both are mandatory** — their specific `seed` values are critical to preserving the exact random roughness of the design.

### Filter 1 — General elements (`id="wc"`)

Applied to: all wave bands and the tower.

```xml
<filter id="wc" x="-6%" y="-6%" width="112%" height="112%">
  <feTurbulence type="fractalNoise" baseFrequency="0.055" numOctaves="4" seed="9" result="noise"/>
  <feDisplacementMap in="SourceGraphic" in2="noise" scale="3.5"
                     xChannelSelector="R" yChannelSelector="G"/>
</filter>
```

| Parameter | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| `baseFrequency` | `0.055` | Medium grain noise |
| `numOctaves` | `4` | Layered texture detail |
| `seed` | **`9`** | Exact noise pattern — do not change |
| `scale` | `3.5` | ~3.5px maximum displacement |

### Filter 2 — Sun (`id="wc-sun"`)

Applied to: sun fill circle and sun stroke circle separately.

```xml
<filter id="wc-sun" x="-8%" y="-8%" width="116%" height="116%">
  <feTurbulence type="fractalNoise" baseFrequency="0.045" numOctaves="3" seed="12" result="noise"/>
  <feDisplacementMap in="SourceGraphic" in2="noise" scale="4"
                     xChannelSelector="R" yChannelSelector="G"/>
</filter>
```

| Parameter | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| `baseFrequency` | `0.045` | Slightly coarser grain than body filter |
| `numOctaves` | `3` | Smoother, rounder roughness |
| `seed` | **`12`** | Exact noise pattern — do not change |
| `scale` | `4` | Slightly heavier displacement than body |

> **Filter region padding:** The `x`, `y`, `width`, `height` attributes on each filter define a clipping region. Use the values shown — they provide enough padding to prevent filter clipping at element edges.

---

## Drawing Order (z-order, bottom to top)

Elements must be drawn in this exact sequence. Later elements render on top of earlier ones.

1. Background rectangle
2. Sun fill
3. Sun stroke
4. Green wave fill
5. Green wave stroke
6. Tower — left face
7. Tower — front face
8. Tower — right face
9. Tower — outer outline
10. Tower — left edge divider line
11. Tower — right edge divider line
12. Sand wave fill
13. Sand wave stroke
14. Sea wave fill
15. Sea wave stroke

The tower sits **above the green band but below the sand and sea bands**, so its base is visually buried in sand. The wave fills each extend to `y=220` (the bottom edge), creating solid filled regions.

---

## Background

```xml
<rect width="200" height="220" fill="#F0E8D0"/>
```

Full-canvas warm cream rectangle. No filter applied.

---

## Sun

Positioned in the upper-right quadrant. Large radius so the sun disc occupies most of the sky area and visually overlaps the tower top.

```xml
<circle cx="170" cy="30" r="80" fill="#D07208" filter="url(#wc-sun)"/>
<circle cx="170" cy="30" r="80" fill="none" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2.2" filter="url(#wc-sun)"/>
```

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Centre | `(170, 30)` — upper right |
| Radius | `80` |
| Fill | `#D07208` |
| Stroke | `#1A0800`, width `2.2` |
| Filter | `wc-sun` applied to both fill and stroke circles independently |

**Geometric note:** The sun spans y = −50 to y = 110 and x = 90 to x = 250 — well outside the 200×220 background rectangle on the top and right, which is why the viewBox is enlarged to `0 -70 270 290` to render it in full instead of clipping it.

## Red Tower

A three-faced orthographic tower silhouette, left-anchored. The three faces simulate a 3D octagonal tower lit from the right (sun side).

### Geometry summary

```
Left face top:   (10, 42)
Peak top-left:   (28, 18)   ← roof ridge left
Peak top-right:  (100, 18)  ← roof ridge right
Right face top:  (118, 42)
All faces bottom: y = 200
```

### Left face — shadow (darkest)

```xml
<path d="M 10,42 L 28,18 L 28,200 L 10,200 Z" fill="#4A0E04" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

A narrow trapezoid at the left. Top edge slopes from `(10,42)` up to `(28,18)`.

### Front face — mid tone

```xml
<path d="M 28,18 L 100,18 L 100,200 L 28,200 Z" fill="#B03414" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

The widest face. Rectangular, spanning x=28 to x=100, top at y=18.

### Right face — highlight (lightest)

```xml
<path d="M 100,18 L 118,42 L 118,200 L 100,200 Z" fill="#C85020" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

A narrow trapezoid at the right. Top edge slopes from `(100,18)` down to `(118,42)`.

### Outer outline

```xml
<path d="M 10,42 L 28,18 L 100,18 L 118,42 L 118,200 L 10,200 Z"
      fill="none" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2.8" stroke-linejoin="round"
      filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

Traces the full silhouette perimeter. `stroke-linejoin="round"` softens the woodcut corners.

### Face divider lines

```xml
<line x1="28" y1="18" x2="28" y2="200" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2" filter="url(#wc)"/>
<line x1="100" y1="18" x2="100" y2="200" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

Vertical lines separating the three faces, running from the roof ridge to the base.

## Wave Bands

All three wave bands share the same design logic:

- Each is a **filled region** extending from its upper boundary curve down to `y=220`.
- Each also has a separate **stroke-only path** tracing just the upper boundary for a crisp woodcut edge line.
- All use filter `wc`.
- All curves use **quadratic Bézier segments** (`Q` command in SVG path syntax).
- All three bands taper — the upper boundary is **higher on the left** (smaller y) and **lower on the right** (larger y), matching the direction of light and the sun's position.
- The left side of each band has a pronounced upward wave crest (the control point y-value is significantly smaller than the anchor y-value), while the right side is relatively flat.

### Band boundary coordinates at left and right canvas edges

| Band | Left edge (x=0) | Right edge (x=200) |
|---|---|---|
| Green top | y = 88 | y = 128 |
| Sand top | y = 140 | y = 160 |
| Sea top | y = 184 | y = 192 |

**Right-edge spacing:** The three right-edge boundary y-values are equidistant — 32px apart each (128 → 160 → 192).

### Green / Nature Band

```xml
<path d="M 0,88 Q 28,56 100,108 Q 162,128 200,128 L 200,220 L 0,220 Z"
      fill="#5A8030" filter="url(#wc)"/>
<path d="M 0,88 Q 28,56 100,108 Q 162,128 200,128"
      fill="none" stroke="#1A1000" stroke-width="2.2" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

**Path breakdown:**

| Segment | Command | Start | Control | End | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Left wave crest | `Q` | `(0, 88)` | `(28, 56)` | `(100, 108)` | Control is 32px above start — strong upward crest on left |
| Right descent | `Q` | `(100, 108)` | `(162, 128)` | `(200, 128)` | Flattens to horizontal on the right |

**Effective band width:**
- At left edge: sand top (y=140) − green top (y=88) = **52px**
- At right edge: sand top (y=160) − green top (y=128) = **32px**

### Sand Band

```xml
<path d="M 0,140 Q 25,112 100,150 Q 160,164 200,160 L 200,220 L 0,220 Z"
      fill="#D4B870" filter="url(#wc)"/>
<path d="M 0,140 Q 25,112 100,150 Q 160,164 200,160"
      fill="none" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2.2" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

**Path breakdown:**

| Segment | Command | Start | Control | End | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Left wave crest | `Q` | `(0, 140)` | `(25, 112)` | `(100, 150)` | Control is 28px above start — mirrors green wave amplitude |
| Right descent | `Q` | `(100, 150)` | `(160, 164)` | `(200, 160)` | Gentle descent to right |

**Effective band width:**
- At left edge: sea top (y=184) − sand top (y=140) = **44px**
- At right edge: sea top (y=192) − sand top (y=160) = **32px**

### Sea Band

```xml
<path d="M 0,184 Q 25,154 100,188 Q 160,198 200,192 L 200,220 L 0,220 Z"
      fill="#0E7AB0" filter="url(#wc)"/>
<path d="M 0,184 Q 25,154 100,188 Q 160,198 200,192"
      fill="none" stroke="#1A0800" stroke-width="2.2" filter="url(#wc)"/>
```

**Path breakdown:**

| Segment | Command | Start | Control | End | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Left wave crest | `Q` | `(0, 184)` | `(25, 154)` | `(100, 188)` | Control is 30px above start — mirrors upper band wave style |
| Right descent | `Q` | `(100, 188)` | `(160, 198)` | `(200, 192)` | Slight upward return at far right |

**Effective band width (to canvas bottom at y=220):**
- At left edge: 220 − 184 = **36px**
- At right edge: 220 − 192 = **28px**

## Design Principles Summary

1. **Woodcut aesthetic:** Every element except the background rectangle uses an SVG displacement-map filter. This creates rough, organic edges that simulate hand-cut print media.

2. **Diagonal composition:** The entire design has a consistent upper-left to lower-right flow. The sun is upper-right; the tower is upper-left; all three band upper boundaries descend from left to right. This creates visual tension and dynamism.

3. **Left-biased wave crests:** Each wave has a pronounced crest peak on the left side (large upward control-point offset) that flattens toward the right. This asymmetry gives energy and avoids a static, uniform stripe appearance.

4. **Equidistant right-edge boundaries:** At x=200, the three band upper boundaries are spaced exactly 32px apart (y=128, 160, 192). This creates visual order and rhythm when the logo is seen from the right side or at reduced sizes.

5. **Three-face tower shading:** The tower's three faces use progressively lighter reds from left (shadow) to right (sunlit), consistent with the sun's position in the upper-right. The shading is purely colour-based — no gradients.

6. **No gradients, no transparency:** All fills are flat colours. The only visual depth comes from element ordering and filter displacement. This ensures the logo reproduces faithfully in print, embroidery, engraving, and single-colour applications.
