The Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) cleaning team removed the pollution that formed on the coastlines following heavy rainfall. With works lasting throughout the day in the eastern and western regions of Alanya, the beaches regained their former appearance. Reminding that they carry out arrangement and cleaning works on the beaches for 12 months, ALTİD President Burhan Sili said, “City cleanliness cannot be provided solely by institutions and cleaning personnel. Our citizens, whether domestic or foreign, especially those living as residents, need to be very sensitive. Wastes such as cigarette butts thrown into drains anywhere in the city or beverage bottles thrown into river channels that connect to the sea cause great pollution on the beaches after heavy rain.”

‘INDIVIDUALS MUST BE CONSCIOUS’

Stating that environmental cleanliness awareness is not a subject passed on to a person solely from their family, Sili spoke as follows: “Our teachers have a great deal of work to do regarding environmental cleanliness and order. Regardless of which subject they teach, they must instill a common topic such as environmental cleanliness in students. The individuals who will grow up in the tourism cities of the future must be much more conscious.”
