Summer Tour, the Turkish operation of the Romanian tour operator Paralela 45, hosted 20 Romanian journalists in Alanya. As part of promotional activities, the journalists visited Alanya Castle, Cleopatra Beach, the harbor, and the city center. The Romanian journalists also visited Cengiz Aşıklı, the manager of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP), before the first charter flight from Bucharest, the capital of Romania with a population of 20 million, to GZP Airport on June 14, to gather information.
Responding to questions from the journalists, Aşıklı stated that the airport, which was used by 836,000 passengers in 2017, has a target of 1.2 million passengers for 2018. Aşıklı also said that there will be 17 international and 5 domestic flights during the season, and added, "Our airport has a capacity of 2 million passengers." He added that Paralela 45's charter flights to GZP will continue once a week until the end of September.
Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) and the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), provided information about the organization of the visit. "We had a meeting with Mehmet Gilik, Commercial Director of Summer Tour, at the international tourism fair held in Bucharest in February, to discuss hosting this group of journalists in Alanya. This meeting bore fruit, and we hosted a group of 20 journalists. We are continuously conducting promotional activities by hosting social media influencers, travel bloggers, and journalists in Alanya throughout the year."
