Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) Vice President Mehmet Dahaoğlu and Board Member Erhan Yönet reported from the Intourmarket 2015 Tourism Fair:

“THERE IS ALSO AN EXPO 2016 ANTALYA STAND”

Our country, participating for the 9th time in the Intourmarket 2015 Tourism Fair, held for the 10th time in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, is being represented by our Ministry's one thousand twenty square meter stand. Having the largest stand at the fair, Turkey holds the position of the country stand that attracts the most attention at the fair, both in terms of area size and design. In addition to tourism facilities and agencies, health tourism representatives are also present at the Turkey stand. On the other hand, at the fair, which includes EXPO 2016 Antalya from Antalya for the purpose of regional promotion, tourism associations and development agencies from Alanya, Cappadocia, Kars, and İzmir are actively continuing their work at the Ministry stand.

“WEAK PROMOTION FROM SPAIN AND GREECE”

Coral Travel is conducting its promotion and marketing activities in a separate area with hotel businesses, the vast majority of which are participating from Antalya. Spain, Italy, and Greece are represented in quite small areas. It is observed that the market expectations of European Union members are also reflected in the exhibition areas. Egypt is continuing its promotional activities with various dance and music performances with its large stand from the first day.

“THERE ARE STUDIES UNDERWAY BEFORE MITT MOSCOW”

Deputy General Manager of Promotion Ahmet Temurci visited the Antalya-Alanya stand and evaluated developments in the Russian market. He stated that significant steps have been taken regarding measures to strengthen the situation in the market and that, along with incentives to be provided to the sector, they have been working on facilitating the transit of Russian tourists prior to the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair.

“THERE WILL BE A CONTRACTION IN THE RUSSIAN MARKET”

Ministry officials stated that they provided free stands to the participants and expressed their desire to see more hoteliers active here in the coming years. The prevailing view among all participants was that a general contraction would occur in the Russian market, but it would be too early to express this in numbers at the moment. Representatives from Azura Deluxe, Saphir Hotels, Mc Hotels, Blue Wave, Lonicera Word, Club Paradiso, and Granada Hotel participated in the fair by attending from Alanya.
