Hotel managers from the İncekum and Türkler regions gathered at the ‘Season Consultation Meeting’ held at the Eftalia Marin Hotel. At the meeting, which was also attended by Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) and Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED), various topics were discussed, including the general situation—primarily regarding main markets such as Russia and Germany—the sectoral structure of hotel operators, recent meetings held with tour operators, occupancy rates of competing tourism regions worldwide and in Türkiye, the fact that occupancy rates of tourist facilities throughout Alanya are approximately 30 percent lower than the previous year despite some hotels being closed, room sales prices being lower than the previous year, the imbalance between supply and demand, the fact that a portion of 2015 receivables has not yet been collected and that collection problems will also be on the agenda this year, the Iranian market and other alternative markets, making savings without compromising service quality, prioritizing the employment of Alanya residents, and the resulting unemployment rates and their effects on Alanya.
