ALTİD, ALTAV, and ALSTUD jointly organized a health tourism development meeting at the Titan Select Hotel, featuring a teleconference participation by Lutz Lungwitz, the President of the German Medical Wellness Association, the International Wellness Association, and the Global Health Tourism Association. During the meeting, it was stated that the transformation of tourist facilities into clinics and health centers could provide long-term stays and high financial returns, that Alanya possesses strategic advantages in geriatric tourism due to its established foreign residents and universities, and that the existing accommodation infrastructure eliminates the need for additional physical structures to manage the organization. ALTİD Chairman Burhan Sili emphasized that health tourism is an opportunity that should not be missed, and expressed his hope that the meeting would serve as a catalyst for the initiatives led by ALSTUD.

Burhan Sili, Chairman of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association, said, "Health tourism is an opportunity that we must not miss. Let this meeting be a catalyst, and let us crown the efforts being carried out under the leadership of the Alanya Health Tourism Association."
‘WILL PROVIDE LONG-TERM STAYS AND HIGH FINANCIAL RETURNS’
Lutz Lungwitz, who joined the meeting via teleconference, spoke about the current status of accreditation specifically for Alanya and Antalya, stating that they are initially reviewing 5-star hotels and clinics. He said that by working together, they will build a significant structure in health and wellness tourism. He also stated that tourist facilities will complete their transformation into clinics and health centers, thereby gaining a program that offers high financial returns and longer stays.
Dr. Tevfik Yazan, the President of ALSTUD, stated that health tourism, which is rapidly becoming a strategic sector both in Turkey and in Alanya, presents a significant opportunity. He added that they are continuing their efforts to secure a larger share of this market and to serve the interests of the country.
Following this, Ahmet Girgin, Vice President of ALSTUD, emphasized that Alanya's strategic advantage over competing regions in providing tourism services between the two airports is very high. Girgin stated that Turkey is prominent in hair transplantation, dental treatment, and cosmetic surgery, but that Alanya has much greater potential. "Our most important argument as Alanya is the presence of foreign residents in our region. In addition, we have two universities in Alanya. By offering geriatric tourism and medical services such as surgery, we will ensure that many more tourist facilities remain open during the winter months," he said.
“NO ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE IS NEEDED.”
Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Aslan, Vice Rector of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), stated that significant achievements can be realized in organizing events without the need for additional physical structures, thanks to Alanya's accommodation facilities. Aslan said, "Northern and Central European countries allocate significant budgets for the treatment and rehabilitation of their citizens."
“An opportunity we must not miss.”
Burhan Sili, a member of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Turizm Tanıtım ve Geliştirme Ajansı and the Türkiye Otelciler Federasyonu (TÜROFED), and the President of ALTİD, delivered the closing speech and said, "We are a country that can provide services in various tourism sectors throughout the year. Tourism is an industry where we prove ourselves on a global scale. The issues we have discussed have been brought to a point under the leadership of ALSTUD, and this is an opportunity that we must not miss. Let this meeting be a spark, and let us celebrate the work carried out under the leadership of ALSTUD."
