Skål Alanya President Mehmet Nedanlı announced that one of the Skål federation meetings, which are held six times a year, would be held in Alanya. “TOURISTS DO NOT WANT TO PAY THE SAME PRICE”

At the meeting, the expenditure items of the hotel industry were evaluated, and the issue of diversifying holiday packages through the separation of costs was also discussed. Stating that consumers wish to shape the services they receive within the hotel according to their own wishes, Burhan Sili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of the Alanya Association of Tourism Professionals (ALTİD), expressed that the HD system has shown very significant development in Türkiye to date, that Turkish hoteliers implement the system well on a global scale, and that they continue this success. Sili stated, “By separating costs and creating different concepts with different prices by forming various packages without disregarding the realities of the facility and the region in line with the guest's demand, it is possible to prepare concepts. At the demand stage, the guest chooses the concept containing the products they will use intensively. Thus, the guest does not have to pay for products or services they do not use. This study, which we consider one of the necessities for being able to work with a focus on guest satisfaction today, also creates an opening in the correct price-cost-satisfaction relationship.''

“NO INCREASE IN PROFIT IS BEING MADE”

“When we turn to tour operators, while inflation is hovering at around 2-2.5 percent, particularly in the European market, there is an annual increase of as much as 12-14 percent in items that completely affect cost calculations in our own country. This increase causes tour operators to voice grievances regarding our annual price hikes. This difference in the increase reflected in hotel prices is definitely not an increase aimed at making more profit. If regulations can be made in terms of diversifying the HD system, it would both significantly eliminate the grievances of tour operators and incoming agencies regarding the increase in hotel accommodation fees and provide our country with an advantage in international price/service competition,” they stated.

Suat Çavuşoğlu, President of the Alanya Regional Executive Board (BYK) of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), also stated that they are open to all kinds of diversified package price offers to be made by hotel operators.
