At the tourism fair held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, from March 24th to 27th, officials from Big Blue, Fibula, and Kontiki Travel, some of the largest tour operators in the region, conducted promotional activities for Turkey together with Turkish tourism professionals. Alanya had a presence within the Turkish pavilion. At the fair, Alanya was represented by Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) and the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD). Dahaoğlu stated, "During a meeting with Vladimir Bogicevic, CEO of Barcino Tour, and their representative in Turkey, Fatih Günay, we learned that they are planning 6,000 passengers for Gazipaşa Alanya Airport (GZP)."

Barcino Tour plans to operate 4 flights per week with Air Serbia starting in June, and this service will continue until the end of October. They are in discussions to evaluate the season and, as in previous years, to bring prominent artists to our city for promotional activities. As you may recall, 4 years ago, ALTAV collaborated with the Serbian artist Anna Kokiç on a music video project in Alanya.

Serbia's population is approximately 7 million. During the January-October period of 2021, the number of Serbian citizens visiting Turkey increased by 78% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 203,000.

The Ambassador of Turkey to Belgrade, Hami Aksoy, visited the Alanya stand and stated that he loves Alanya very much and has been there many times. He announced the start of discussions with the city of Novi Sad, which has a population of 300,000, to become sister cities, but that these discussions were paused due to the pandemic. He stated that he would resume the final discussions on this matter as soon as possible, and for this reason, he invited the Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yücel, to visit the city.
