“THERE ARE CHURCHES OF 5-6 CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS IN ALANYA”
Stating that more than 40 thousand foreign residents from 47 countries live in peace in Alanya, District Governor Özdemir said, “We live within the framework of tolerance and respect in a multicultural environment. There are associations from nearly 20 countries in our Alanya. I attach great importance to these associations and deal closely with their problems.” Expressing that there are churches of 5-6 Christian denominations in Alanya, Özdemir stated, “Everyone here is free to practice their religious life. The fundamental relationship between cultures is built on mutual respect and understanding. Alanya hosts more than four million tourists a year. It is quite normal for many people to prefer this place for this reason.” Completing his words humorously by saying, “While the blessings of the world were being distributed by angels, the bottom of the bundle of blessings was torn, and a large part spilled into Alanya,” Özdemir said that his doors are always open and fully accessible to Honorary Consul Çorabatır and the administrators of the Alanya Polish Culture and Friendship Association.
“MULTICULTURALISM IN THIS COUNTRY
“IT WAS NEVER A PROBLEM”
Stating that Türkiye is an open and tolerant country, Ambassador Cieniuch said, “Türkiye is very suitable for cooperation. Multiculturalism has never been a problem in this country. For this reason, Poles are also very happy in Türkiye and Alanya, which possess this mosaic. Especially the Poles living in Alanya are able to live happily within Turkish culture without losing their own culture.” Mentioning the natural beauties of Alanya with praise, Ambassador Cieniuch spoke, saying, “When God was building the world, He showed great favor to Alanya.”
