The restoration of a mansion structure, rumored to have been built in the 1500s in Mardin, and its conversion into a special 10-room hotel for tourism contributes to the recognition of Mardin's cultural fabric, hospitality, and culinary culture by all segments of society.
Emrecan Aydın, General Coordinator of Mardius Tarihi Konak, which provides significant contributions to cultural tourism in Mardin, a city that has hosted many civilizations for 12 thousand years, and Hotel Manager Hızır Akbey, visited Gülçin Güner, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and former president of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), in Alanya.
Stating in Türkiye that every geography can take a share of the tourism pie with the right investments and the right government policy, Aydın said, “Ms. Gülçin is a value who can be the voice of all tourism professionals on every platform. For this reason, we also visited her and provided information about the studies being carried out in our region. Mardin province is walking with steady steps on the path to becoming the most important tourism and attraction center of the Southeast on a global scale. With its cultural structure, its still-living tolerance and love without distinction of religion, language, or race, its architectural structure and history, its growing economy and tourism, it will make even more mention of itself in the coming years. In order to contribute to this important mission, we have also opened the Mardius Tarihi Konak into service. We want to spread the recognition of a hotel like Mardius Tarihi Konak, which was not opened with commercial concerns, to wider audiences.”
Güner, stating that they closely monitor the investments made as TÜROFED, expressed that Mardius Otel is a very important gain for Türkiye in terms of cultural tourism. Expressing his satisfaction regarding the visit, Güner wished success to Aydın and Akbey.
