'YEAR-END TARGET: 1 MILLION 100 THOUSAND TOURISTS'
Gazipaşa District Governor Cemil Öztürk, who provided information about the flights and Gazipaşa Airport (GZP), stated, "Reciprocal flights between Tehran and GZP have begun, with services operating weekly until September 20th. This development is of great importance for both countries. The first flight landed at our airport with 168 passengers. Now, Iranian citizens will be able to reach our region with the convenience of direct flights. With this flight, the number of countries connected to GZP has increased to 13. As of this month, the number of passengers using our airport has exceeded 850,000. We aim to reach 1,100,000 passengers by the end of the year." Alanya Municipality Deputy Mayor Nazmi Yüksel, also stated that the flights are of great importance for both the tourism and construction sectors of our country and region, and added, "We would like to thank the officials of Abibal Tour and Kilit Global, who are responsible for the incoming services, and all those who contributed."
“FLIGHTS WILL BE SPREAD OVER 12 MONTHS.”
Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of ALTAV and ALTİD, stated that they have consistently kept Alanya in the forefront at the Tehran Tourism Fair, which they have attended for many years. "We are seeing the results of the contacts we made at the fairs today. Iranian citizens who come to Alanya for vacation or live there were previously reaching our region via connecting flights through Adana, Isparta, or Gaziantep. This problem has now been solved, and direct flights have started. With the resolution of the transportation issue, which is essential for the tourism sector, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of Iranian guests coming to Alanya. We believe that with the increase in demand, these flights will be extended to 12 months. We would like to thank Hamit Mohajerani, General Manager of Abibal Tour, and Efe Ünal, Alanya Representative of Kilit Global, for their contributions, whom we contacted at the Tehran Tourism Fair."
