The Sustainable Tourism Development Support Program, announced by the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA) on November 18, 2024, was introduced to tourism professionals in Alanya. The meeting, hosted by the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), was attended by ALTSO Chairman Eray Erdem, ALTİD Chairman Burhan Sili, ALSİAD Chairman Emrah Cezirioğlu, and BAKA Eastern Antalya Liaison Office Representative Oğuzhan Ataman. Businesses operating in the tourism sector showed great interest in the meeting.
Oğuzhan Ataman, the Regional Coordinator of BAKA Eastern Antalya Liaison Office, informed the participants about the purpose, priorities, and general conditions of the support program. Ataman stated, "We are offering interest-free credit support to spread tourism activities throughout the region, increase diversity, and achieve a green transformation, rather than limiting them to the coastal strip. Applications must be for projects that are in line with the program's objectives and meet at least one of the priorities."
Within the scope of the program, projects will receive support ranging from 500,000 TL to 7 million TL. The areas to be supported include creative tourism, sports tourism, ecotourism, and environmentally friendly investments. Priority will be given to projects that increase tourism diversity in the region, are innovative, and create economic value.
