Bureaucrats could not keep up with the pace of the ministers

The Türkiye Tourism Investors Association (TYD) Antalya Regional Meeting was held at Aska Lara Hotel with the participation of Antalya Mayor Menderes Türel, Antalya Governor Muammer Türker, and industry representatives. During the meeting, it was stated that projects to provide fuel support for flights from the Commonwealth of Independent States and to grant easy financing loans to operators reaching certain tourist numbers were approved under the leadership of Minister of Tourism Ömer Çelik. Industry representatives requested that fuel supports be announced in advance for all foreign markets, covering the months of October and November as well, due to bureaucracy prolonging the implementation processes.

The Türkiye Tourism Investors Association (TYD) Antalya Regional Meeting was held at Aska Lara Hotel. The meeting was attended by Antalya Mayor Menderes Türel and Antalya Governor Muammer Türker, Türkiye Hotel Association (TÜROFED) President Osman Ayık, AKTOB President Yusuf Hacısüleyman, and Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) President Burhan Sili.

The statement made by TYD regarding the matters discussed at the meeting is as follows: The projects to provide 6 thousand dollars in fuel support for flights to tourism regions from the Commonwealth of Independent States, and to provide easy financing loans to tour operators who bring 400 thousand or more tourists annually from these markets, are projects directly managed by the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ömer Çelik. These are projects that were evaluated and swiftly accepted in a sort of mini cabinet meeting with the participation of the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Tourism, and tourism professionals under the auspices of the Prime Minister. The sector considers it a debt of gratitude to the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ömer Çelik, who played an effective role in the rapid intervention and decision-making regarding this issue. However, because the bureaucracy of the matter prolongs the implementation processes of the decisions taken, the impact will unfortunately be less than expected. As a sector, our demand is that, in order to compensate for the losses that will occur at the beginning of the season by extending the summer season until the end of November, the same fuel supports be announced now and provided for all international markets without distinction for the months of October and November.
