Following the bankruptcy of the Hungary-based company Green Travel, a coordinated effort was carried out by ALTİD President Burhan Sili with officials from TÜROFED, ALTSO, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to prevent the victimization of approximately 800 Hungarian tourists located in Türkiye. Within the scope of the process, while the transfers and accommodations of the tourists arriving at the airport were provided, operational facilities were ensured with the support of Akdem Travel and accommodation facilities. With the intervention of the insurance company, the victimization of all guests was prevented, the operation was completed, and the Hungarian tourists were sent back to their countries.

Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) and Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED):
Green Travel, which operates in Hungary and also has sales in Türkiye, has gone bankrupt. The bankruptcy event reached us on Sunday. The matter was conveyed to our Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) President, Mr. Mehmet Şahin, while a plane carrying Hungarian tourists was arriving in Antalya. He called me regarding the situation, and we consulted together. At the same time, we determined that there are a total of around 800 Hungarian tourists in Türkiye, including those arriving by plane and those continuing their holidays in Türkiye through this operator. Following the discussions I held, with the contributions of our TÜROFED President Osman Ayık and together with officials from the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, we took precautions to ensure the transfers and accommodations of the tourists who will first land at the airport, so that they would not suffer and would not be stranded at the airport. Orhan Demirtaş, the owner of Akdem Travel, which is Green Travel's partner in Antalya, also acted with prudence, provided the necessary facilities, and carried out the transfer operation. Of course, our facilities where these guests will stay also accepted the guests despite the bankruptcy.
When a travel agency or tour operator goes bankrupt in Europe, insurance companies step in. With the contributions of our Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Promotion and the embassies of both countries, the insurance company was ensured to make a rapid decision after Green Travel announced its official bankruptcy. During this process, the victimization of guests was prevented.
Through the work we have carried out here, we have conducted a successful operation to ensure that the 200 tourists who arrived on Sunday, along with the Green Travel customers from Hungary staying in the tourism region from Kemer to Alanya, do not suffer any grievances. The effort shown in this regard is a success for Turkish tourism. With the intervention of the insurance company, it was ensured that the tourists currently staying did not suffer any grievances, and as of the end of this day, the operation was completed and the Hungarian tourists were sent back to their country.
