The Let's Do It, Mediterranean environmental cleanup event, carried out simultaneously with 22 countries bordering the Mediterranean, was held at two different locations in Alanya. Approximately 300 local and foreign volunteers, along with students from Germany's twin city Helmstedt, participated in the organization held at the Titan Garden Otel beach in Konaklı Neighborhood and in Alanya center. The event, which was supported by the Alanya District Governorate Project Coordination Unit, Alanya Municipality, ALTİD, and many different institutions, was successfully completed despite adverse weather conditions.

The beach cleaning, carried out simultaneously with 22 countries bordering the Mediterranean, was successfully conducted at two different locations in Alanya as well. The environmental cleaning, held under the slogan "Let's Do It, Mediterranean," took place on the beach of Titan Garden Otel in the Konaklı Neighborhood. In Alanya center, local students and musicians came together to draw attention to environmental cleaning. Approximately 300 local and foreign people participated in the organization. The volunteers who met in Konaklı collected the trash on the beach with the bags in their hands.
‘WE ARE THE THIRD IN THE WORLD’
ALÇED President Şerefnur Kayhan stated that they carried out the organization simultaneously with 22 Mediterranean countries despite the bad weather conditions in Alanya. Expressing that the project will continue to be held on the same day and at the same time with the countries bordering the Mediterranean for 5 years, Kayhan said, "Despite the weather conditions, we found very little trash during the cleaning we conducted with the participants. The reason for this is our Blue Flags. There are 63 Blue Flags at 49 locations in our region. As Türkiye, we are third in the world in the number of Blue Flags, following Spain and Greece."
'HELD DESPITE ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS'
The Project Coordinator for Alanya, Özgür Arslan, stated that they carried out the Alanya stage of the organization with volunteers who did not leave them alone despite the adverse weather conditions. Expressing that they are trying to draw attention to environmental awareness through the event, Arslan stated that they were unable to perform seabed cleaning in the sea via scuba diving due to the bad weather.
TWIN CITY HELMSTEDT DID NOT LEAVE ALONE
The students from Germany's twin city, Helmstedt, who were in Alanya on the day of the event, also supported the Alanya beach cleaning. The teacher in charge of the German student group, Manfred Peschel, said, "We have been coming to our twin city Alanya with our students for 15 years. We participated as volunteers along with our students in today's beach cleaning activity. We know very well that no matter where we are from in the world, we must do our best to raise a conscious generation by participating in these types of activities. We are happy to carry out this activity in a beautiful city like Alanya."
