At the congress, where Deputy General Manager of Promotion Levent Demirel gave a detailed presentation on Turkish tourism to British agents and members of the press, workshops were also held, and sessions were conducted where evaluations regarding British and world tourism were made.
Speaking at a cocktail attended by more than 600 ABTA member agencies, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Özgür Özaslan stated that Turkey is a country continuously growing in the global travel market and drew attention to the importance of the British market for Turkey. Noting that Antalya is a rising value worldwide and receives more than ten million visitors, Özaslan said, "Antalya is one of the world's leading destinations with its nature, accommodation facilities, and other features. It is an excellent destination not only with its nature and sea but also with its cultural riches. Antalya possesses many works included in the World Cultural Heritage List. I believe that holding the ABTA Congress in Antalya will offer even greater contributions to the existing tourism relations between the two countries."
Addressing the guests during the night, ABTA Chairman of the Board John McEvan spoke as follows:
"In recent years, there has been an increasing popularity of Türkiye among the British. The reason for this is the quality and high standards achieved in the country's tourism facilities. The number of returning guests Türkiye receives from the United Kingdom is quite high. Being in Belek has been a unique and extraordinary experience for us. On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, for the hospitality and quality service we have witnessed here."
