The Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) Board of Directors meeting was held at the ALTAV Meeting Hall. The meeting, chaired by ALTAV and Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, was also attended by TAV Marketing Coordinator Serkan Karahatay and Anex Tour General Manager Vural Karasu. During the meeting, the effective use of the Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport was emphasized, particularly the issue of direct flights from Russia to the airport.

Emphasizing that transportation is vital for quality tourism, Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel stated, “Transportation plays a very important role in tourists' holiday choices. Vacationers stay for an average of one week and avoid long road journeys. They reach their hotels after a 3-4 hour journey. This puts the sector, in which we must increase quality, in a difficult position. After the opening of GZP, we can now reach our furthest point in 45 minutes. This airport has provided a very great advantage for regional tourism. The joint cooperation of institutions such as TAV and Anex will provide significant benefits to both the region and our institutions. As the economic prosperity of the regions increases, the rate of smiling faces will also increase. As ALTAV and the Mayor, I wish you abundant earnings in advance. Anex Tour General Manager Vural Karasu stated, “Next year, we will land our planes in Gazipaşa from Russia and Ukraine. Our competitors who see us will also want to use this airport. In the long run, Alanya will win. We used to land only one million passengers in Antalya. We will secure a significant share of this pie for Alanya as well. Everywhere in the world, regions that are far from an airport are sold more cheaply. By reaching a wider tourist profile with GZP, we will make a significant contribution to the sale of facilities at higher prices.”

Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, thanking the TAV and Anex Tour managements for their interest in Alanya, presented both company managements with an Alanya engraving that describes how Alanya was historically a maritime trade center, along with an Alanyaspor jersey.
