Members of the ALANYA Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) Board of Directors visited Yücel Sönmez, the Director of the Alanya Forestry Department. Sönmez, who provided information to his guests about forestry activities in the Alanya region, exchanged ideas with tourism professionals regarding joint projects to be carried out between institutions. Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of ALTAV and the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), provided information about the visit, stating that tourism should not be limited to beaches and the city center, and that they are working to ensure that the revenue generated from tourism benefits rural areas. Dahaoğlu explained that activities such as jeep safaris, parachuting, orienteering, trekking, hiking, silk production tours, camping, rafting, canyoning, and cave tours are used to promote tourism in rural areas. "Local promotion is just as important as international promotion. Every guest who vacations in Alanya acts as a promotional ambassador abroad. During our visit, we primarily discussed security issues. Tourism is a sensitive sector. It is necessary to minimize accidents and abuses. In this regard, it is of great importance that nature sports activities are conducted under registration and with professionals. Within this framework, we at ALTAV continue our consultations with all institutions."
