Steps have been taken to implement three main projects: Barrier-Free City Alanya, Barrier-Free Tourism for Everyone, and the International Barrier-Free Life Center. Officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Directorate for Persons with Disabilities, Alanya Municipality, ALTİD, and ALTSO met at the ALTİD building within the scope of barrier-free tourism studies. As a result of these studies, steps have been taken to implement three main projects under the names Barrier-Free City Alanya, Barrier-Free Tourism for Everyone, and International Barrier-Free Life Center regarding Alanya and people with disabilities and disability tourism.
Studies have been launched for barrier-free hotels with the aim of creating an exemplary barrier-free city in Alanya through public and private spaces designed to ensure that domestic and foreign persons with disabilities living in or visiting Alanya can participate in all areas of social life without needing someone else's help or with minimal assistance, and to ensure that persons with disabilities can go on vacation and meet and integrate with different cultures just like barrier-free people, as well as to ensure the acquisition of a sustainable 12-month tourism approach for our country. Within this framework, working meetings are being conducted as a priority. Today, officials from Alanya Municipality, ALTİD, and ALTSO came together at a working meeting held at the ALTİD building, with the participation of Ministry of Culture and Tourism Board of Controllers Vice President İrfan Akıncı, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Specialist Ümran Dilek Toprak, and Specialist Deniz Çağlayan Gümüş from the Directorate of Persons with Disabilities.
