While there were differences on a facility-by-facility and seasonal basis, from opening to closing, the average occupancy rates were around 60%. There was approximately a 70% decrease in the number of guests compared to 2019."
‘EMPLOYMENT IN THE SECTOR DECREASED’
President Sili emphasized that employees were also negatively affected during this challenging period. "The number of insured employees has decreased. Tourism facilities have also been affected by this difficult period. If it weren't for the Short-Time Working Benefit (KÇÖ) and other incentives, the situation would have been much worse. We are going through an extraordinary period. It is of great importance for us and the national economy that political parties and municipal tourism committees take action during this period. We are continuing our work in this regard. As one of the important destinations in world tourism, Alanya's short, medium, and long-term problems being examined with these committees, and being brought to the attention of relevant authorities, political and bureaucratic circles, and followed up, is of great importance for the sector," he said.
