Sustainable tourism, renewable energy investments, employment supports, alternative tourism models, and environmental awareness issues were discussed at the ALTİD board of directors meeting. During the meeting, while it was emphasized that solar energy systems in hotels reduce costs, it was stated that the Social Security Institution premium support in the accommodation sector should be extended over 12 months to protect employment. ALTİD President Cem Özcan stated that the future of tourism will be shaped by an understanding that protects nature and prioritizes social responsibility.

President Cem Özcan: "The future of tourism will be shaped by sustainability and a sense of shared responsibility."

Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), at its board of directors meeting, addressed sustainable tourism, renewable energy investments, employment supports, alternative tourism models, and environmental awareness.

Solar energy investments are accelerating the green transition

At the meeting, it was emphasized that rooftop solar power system investments, which are becoming widespread in hotels, significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions and strengthening energy supply security while lowering energy costs. It was stated that solar power plant investments for self-consumption support the national economy by reducing energy imports and alleviate the load on the electricity infrastructure.

Green tourism is no longer a choice, but a necessity

ALTİD stated that sustainable tourism encompasses not only the protection of the environment but also the efficient use of natural resources, the support of the local economy, and the strengthening of the sense of social responsibility. It was expressed that green tourism practices hold strategic importance for the future of the sector.

SGK premium support in the accommodation sector should be spread over 12 months

At the meeting, it was stated that the Social Security Institution premium support provided to the accommodation sector is insufficient as it only covers the May-December period, and it was emphasized that the support should be implemented for 12 months in order to protect employment, encourage registered labor, and reduce the financial burden on businesses.

Tent and caravan tourism is developing on public beaches

It was evaluated that the tent and caravan camping areas implemented in public beaches by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism contribute to the diversity of alternative tourism. While it was stated that this model supports nature-friendly tourism, attention was drawn to the importance of planning it in harmony with existing accommodation enterprises.

Clean beaches are our shared responsibility

ALTİD emphasized that protecting a clean environment and clean beaches is the shared responsibility of not only institutions but also society. Stating that regular cleaning activities are ongoing, the association expressed that lasting success would be possible through the environmental awareness of citizens and called for sensitivity regarding keeping the environment clean. ALTİD President Cem Özcan, stating that sustainable tourism forms the foundation of the sector's future, said the following:

"The future of tourism will be shaped by an approach that protects nature, uses resources efficiently, and prioritizes social responsibility. A clean environment, clean beaches, and sustainable energy investments are of great importance for both our sector and the future of our city. Green tourism is no longer a choice, but a fundamental requirement for leaving a livable world to future generations. As ALTİD, we will continue to resolutely fulfill our responsibilities in line with the goal of sustainable tourism."
