Alanya was promoted at the International Tourism Fair held in Sofia, the largest city and capital of Bulgaria. At the fair, held in the city with an average population of 1 million 300 thousand, Alanya was promoted for the second time under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Alanya was represented by Mehmet Kural, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV). Sharing his impressions regarding the fair, Kural noted the following:

“EVERY TOURISM MARKET IS VALUABLE”

Bulgarians' holiday preferences are generally towards Turkey, primarily Istanbul, as well as Çanakkale, Kuşadası, and Bodrum, due to proximity and low transportation costs. The crisis we are experiencing these days has shown us that there are no small or large tourism markets, and that even the largest market can shrink significantly in a very short time.

“AN EMERGING AND GROWING MARKET”

For this reason, with the advantage of the Bulgarian market being close to us as a border, it could be one of the alternative markets if the Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport can also be utilized. The interest of the young population in Alanya is quite good. As a developing and growing market, we must continue our promotional activities in Bulgaria.
