A Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 passengers, operated by the Copenhagen Air Taxi airline from Billund, Denmark, landed at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) with 174 passengers on board. This flight, which marks the first direct flight to the Scandinavian market in years, was welcomed with a traditional water salute ceremony. A celebratory event was held at the terminal. The collaboration between Alanya Municipality, Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), and Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) is beginning to yield results from the important contacts made throughout the year at international fairs, opening a new chapter in Alanya tourism. Guests arriving from Billund, Denmark, were greeted with flowers by Alanya Municipality Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın, Gazipaşa Municipality Deputy Mayor Necdet Ali Şirin, ALTİD Chairman Burhan Sili, ALTAV Board Member Alper Gencelli, and Airport Director Ali Özgür Pehlivan. Passengers disembarking from the aircraft were met with the warmth of the Mediterranean sun and the region's hospitality. **ALANYA IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE.** During the welcoming ceremony, Alanya Municipality Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın stated, "We are always very pleased to welcome you to our city," emphasizing his sincerity. The flight crew was touched by Açıkalın's heartfelt words. A flight attendant responded, "If everyone is as sweet and friendly as you, we would love to come here every time." This brief dialogue demonstrated that the region is not only known for its beaches, sand, and sun, but also for its warm hospitality, making it a tourism brand. A total of 102 flights from Denmark to Alanya-Gazipaşa Airport are planned throughout the summer season. This will further strengthen Alanya's accessibility to Europe and create new dynamism in the region's tourism. Flights will be operated reciprocally between Billund (BLL), Gazipaşa (GZP), and Copenhagen (CPH). With this new route, Alanya will continue to attract attention with its accessibility and visionary tourism policies. **FLIGHT SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:** * Every Wednesday between July 2 and August 6, 2025: BLL ➝ GZP ➝ CPH * Every Saturday afternoon between May 31 and October 18: BLL ➝ GZP ➝ CPH * Every Saturday evening between May 31 and October 18: CPH ➝ GZP ➝ BLL
