ALTİD President Burhan Sili stated that a target of 50 million tourists could be achieved nationwide by moving beyond sea, sand, and sun tourism. Sili expressed that, in addition to charter flights, they expect state support regarding the increase of scheduled flights, the provision of low-interest loans to improve facility qualities, and the training of employees. Furthermore, he emphasized that working conditions should be improved through a regulation suitable for the structure of the sector.

Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), listed what is required in tourism under four main headings. In his statement, Sili noted the following: By moving beyond sea, sand, and sun tourism, we can target a figure of 50 million tourists nationwide. 90 percent of the tourists coming to Antalya arrive via charter flights. In addition to charter flights, the number of scheduled flights must also be increased. Alanya is almost the first region to have opened up to tourism in the Mediterranean basin. Regions such as Side, Belek, and Kundu were developed later through allocations thanks to state support. In terms of increasing the quality of our facilities in Alanya, low-interest loans must absolutely be provided to the sector. The workforce must be enhanced by having employees and middle-level managers receive training, and we expect support from the state on this matter as well. Our sector provides a significant contribution to the national economy. The current situation of the tourism sector should be improved through a regulation suitable for the structure of the sector within the Ministry of Labour.
