“SOLUTION POSSIBILITIES FOR ANTALYA-ALANYA TRANSPORTATION MUST BE IMPLEMENTED IMMEDIATELY”

Sili, noting that political activity has intensified across the country in recent days due to the elections to be held on June 7, stated that they have conveyed the issues that need to be prioritized and resolved on a tourism scale to politicians visiting their institutions, whether they are independent or representatives of any political party, and have provided them with a file regarding Alanya. Mentioning that the content of the file covers the main problems regarding regional tourism, Sili said, “Politicians were informed about issues such as overcoming the airport accessibility problem between Antalya and Alanya through rail system and sea route alternatives, the urgent handling of alternative road options for the highway which has become extremely congested today, the matters that need to be organized so that the Ministry and industry representatives work in harmony on all issues concerning promotion and the sector, the provision of low-interest and long-term credit support for the renovation works of touristic facilities specifically in Alanya, the implementation of social security premium issues and a different support for the winter period so that facilities can remain open 12 months a year, and ensuring personnel continuity and extending the season in this direction.”

“FACILITIES WITH MUNICIPAL LICENSES WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO BECOME MEMBERS”

Sili stated that the decisions to be taken in meetings to be held with regional association managements will be shared with the relevant Ministry and institutions and announced to the public in the upcoming process, just as in previous terms; he expressed that initiatives carried out under the umbrella of non-governmental organizations yield more successful results and said that, in accordance with the existing charter, only tourist facilities licensed by the Ministry can be members of ALTİD. Sili expressed that as a management, they plan to restructure through a charter amendment to also include facilities licensed by the Municipality.

“MUSIC COPYRIGHT ISSUES ARE BEING EXPERIENCED”

Sili stated that touristic facilities are experiencing victimization regarding published music copyrights due to loopholes in the ‘Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works’. Saying that an agreement was made with four music professional associations through TÜROFED, Sili spoke as follows: “Today, another association has emerged, and perhaps even more will appear before us. Letters are being sent to facilities requesting payment in exchange for copyrights. We must make a single annual payment for all music professional associations, and regarding the distribution of this, the professional associations should organize under a single umbrella, and the problems that will arise in the future should be eliminated today. As TÜROFED, we have expressed the issue of reorganizing this law in this context to the relevant persons and authorities, and we will continue to do so.”

During the continuation of the meeting, topics such as the progress of the season, beach buffets, and how to keep the seas clean were also discussed.
