The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Türkiye Hotel Association was held on 23.12.2011 at the JW Marriott Hotel Ankara. The general assembly, which began at 11:00 and drew intense interest from TÜROFED delegates, was attended by Minister of Development Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım, and Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertuğrul Günay. Osman Ayık won the election, in which two candidates competed and 157 delegates cast their votes, becoming the new president of TÜROFED. ALTİD President Gülçin GÜNER from Alanya and Burhanettin SİLİ were elected to the TÜROFED board of directors.
