Members of the Türkiye Retirees Association (TÜED), which has approximately 900,000 members across Türkiye, will vacation in Alanya during the winter and spring months. The first group of 20 people will arrive in Alanya via Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport on March 27. Stating that the potential for retirees in Türkiye is very large, organization coordinator Çiğdem Taşar said that among the 900,000 retirees who are members of TÜED, there is a group of 300,000 who have the ability to travel and can go on long walks, adding, “Contrary to Europeans, the majority of retired individuals in our country do not have a vacation culture outside of visiting relatives. If the opportunities arise, they have an incredible desire to explore different geographies and get to know different regions and cultures. Based on this, we have prepared organizations with very affordable prices specifically for our retirees. Our first group will be in Alanya between March 27-31. Our retirees will encounter the beauties of the Mediterranean, primarily Alanya Castle, Dim Çayı, and Damlataş Cave, which is good for asthma.”

“DOMESTIC MARKET TARGET IS TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT”

Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) and Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED), who stated that they received reservations predominantly from Russia and Russian-speaking countries this year, said: “The domestic market is as important to us as foreign markets. In recent years, we experienced how a market you are heavily dependent on can suddenly disappear as a result of global imbalances. For this reason, you must always have alternative markets and products at your disposal, and for sustainable tourism, you need to secure an average share of 25 percent from the domestic market.”
