NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
SPECIFICATIONS
1.COMPETITION SUBJECT/ THEME: It is Free . This competition is organized by Alanya Municipality.
2. PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION: Our Municipality, which contributes to "Photography Art" as it does to all branches of art, has organized four national competitions, ranging from their preliminary studies to their announcement and through to their conclusion.
By organizing the fifth edition with a different approach and format than the previous ones; it aims to contribute to the development of the art of photography. It aims to reward the photographer in order to strengthen the nature of the relationship between photography and the photographer.
3. COMPETITION CONDITIONS:
Participation: Everyone, except for the Selection Committee and their first-degree relatives, may participate in the competition with a maximum of 4 (four) color or black and white photographs taken in Türkiye. Analog photographs must be submitted as 35 mm transparencies placed in a 5x5 cm glass frame, while digital photographs must be saved on a CD in tiff or jpeg format at 300 dpi resolution, with the long side being 40 cm. Photographs that have previously received awards or been published, as well as those containing shutter differences from such photographs, cannot participate in the competition; even if they participate and receive an award, the award shall be withdrawn. Since photographs serve as documentation, numerical interventions must be made taking this characteristic into account, and the main structure of the image must not be altered. No margins should be left at the edges of the photograph, and no framing process should be performed. In the evaluation, it will be taken into consideration that the photographs possess aesthetic integrity in terms of "content" and "form" and/or "technique." Participants are deemed to have accepted the competition rules.
4. Marking of Photographs: On transparencies, the bottom left corner of the frame must be marked with a colored dot in the correct viewing direction, and the participant's 6-digit pseudonym and the photograph number must be written on the back. For example: Pseudonym_1, Pseudonym_2, Pseudonym_3, Pseudonym_4, etc. In digital photographs, this information shall be written in the file name. No other information shall appear on the photographs. In addition to the participant's full identity and contact information, the participation form must include the number of each photograph, the location and date it was taken, and the name of the photograph if any. The naming on the CD recordings must be the same as the participation form. After the participation form is filled out, it must be placed in an envelope, and only the pseudonym should be written on the envelope.
5. Submission of Photographs: The envelope containing the photographs and the participation form may be sent to the application address, packaged in a way that it will not be damaged in the mail, or it may also be delivered by hand. Alanya Municipality cannot be held responsible for any potential delays, damages, or losses in the mail.

Return of Photographs: Photo owners can collect photographs, other than the award-winning and exhibition area photographs, from the Alanya Municipality Directorate of Culture by July 01, 2009.

8. Copyright: The selected photographs may be used for promotional purposes in the competition exhibition and exhibition announcement through various methods of reproduction outside of the exhibition, and also by Alanya Municipality in all kinds of publications and events by stating the name. The right of use shall belong to the Photographer and Alanya Municipality.
9. Awards: First Prize: 1500 TL,
Second Prize: 1000 TL,
Third Place Prize: 500 TL,
Honorable Mentions (3 units) are 250 TL each, and the Alanya Themed Festival Special Award (1 unit) is 500 TL. In addition to the award, all participants will be presented with an ‘’Alanya Municipality Cultural Contribution Certificate.’’

Selections: 41 pieces will be selected for exhibition by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee, will examine the photographs in terms of integrity, intellectual dimension, and aesthetic values and will write a "reasoned report" regarding the award-winning works.
