According to a study conducted by Wakacje.pl, a tourism portal based in Poland, one in three people who purchased vacations between April and October made reservations for trips to Turkey. Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), stated, "Greece has been the top travel destination for Polish tourists for years. However, currently, Turkey is the clear number one among the most preferred destinations for the summer of 2021. Greece is in second place, and Egypt is in third. However, it is observed that Egypt has a chance to close this gap in recent days. The top 10 destinations with the most reservations include Tunisia, Spain, Bulgaria, Poland, Croatia, Cyprus, and Albania. Wakacje.pl also researched how residents of different provinces make their vacation decisions. Turkey ranked first in the list of vacation destinations in 14 provinces. Greece was ranked first only in the Lubelskie and Świętokrzyskie provinces (2 provinces)." Dahaoğlu stated that this type of news is encouraging for tourism professionals who are experiencing difficult times due to the pandemic, and he called on the people of Alanya to be even more cautious in order to reduce the number of cases to reasonable levels.
