Alanya was promoted at a tourism fair held in Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus. In the country, which has a population of nearly 10 million, Alanya was represented by Gürol Birgen, a Member of the Board of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV). Birgen shared his impressions regarding the fair as follows: There is good news from the Minsk Tourism Fair. Especially in Belarus, which was affected by the crisis at the same rate as Russia following the plane crisis, there was great interest in the Turkey stand. Mutual visits are taking place between Turkey and Belarus due to visa-free travel. Preferences for sea, sand, and sun holidays are particularly directed towards Turkey. Due to the shortage of charter flights, flight costs are somewhat high. During the 2017 season, there will be direct flights from the cities of Minsk and Gomel to İzmir, Antalya, Dalaman, and Bodrum. The fact that ABC Aerobelservice, the charter company of Belarus's national airline Belavia, has started operating charter flights indicates that 40 percent more tourists will arrive. According to the information I received from officials, Belarus-Turkey relations are at a very good level. Turkey is the best country they can go to in terms of the price-quality balance. Sometimes they come to Turkey for vacation via Ukraine or Russia because the flight costs are lower. Among the overseas holiday options for the Belarusian people, Turkey and Antalya are among the priority regions. It is necessary for charter flights to increase even further.
