Following the enactment of the Energy Efficiency Law in our country in 2007, all sectors related to energy will meet at UEVF 2011 to increase awareness regarding energy efficiency, announce ongoing studies, and evaluate applicable projects. The protocol of the 2nd National Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair, where the effectiveness of energy efficiency will be discussed within the obligations of the "Climate Change and Kyoto Protocols" to which our country is also a party, will bring together the names controlling the energy sector. To evaluate national energy efficiency, the opening speeches of UEVF 2011 will be delivered by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Taner YILDIZ, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Nihat ERGÜN, the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Veysel EROĞLU, the General Manager of the Electricity Works Study Administration Mr. M. Kemal BÜYÜKMIHCI, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Mr. M. Rifat HİSARCIKLIOĞLU, and the President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Nüket YETİŞ. The Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey Ms. Nimet ÇUBUKÇU will also be among the protocol guests of the event.
International Energy Agency Chief Economist Mr. Fatih BİROL is coming to Türkiye as the special guest of UEVF 2011 to address the policies followed in line with the global need for energy efficiency and to provide information regarding the projects that must be implemented. Mr. Ali KOÇ, Koç Holding New Business Development Coordinator and Koç Group Information Group Executive Committee Chairman, who is one of the special guests of the event, will be present at the opening to share his views on the subject of energy efficiency with the audience.
Mr. Ali BAYRAMOĞLU, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Industry, Energy, Natural Resources and Information Technology Commission, will chair the panel on the "Energy Efficiency Strategy Document" to be held on the first day of UEVF 2011, while Mr. Selahattin ÇİMEN, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, will chair the panel on "Energy Efficiency Action Plans."
On the first day of the 2nd National Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair, the Award Ceremony of the Energy Efficiency in Industry Project Competition will be held. It is aimed to facilitate more encouraging studies on energy efficiency through the awards that will be presented to the winners by Mr. Taner YILDIZ. With the Energy Efficiency in Industry Project Competition (SENVER-11), which is being organized for the 11th time this year to reveal, introduce, disseminate, and encourage projects and technologies that prioritize energy efficiency and are environmentally conscious, as well as “Projects for Increasing Energy Efficiency in Industry (SEVAP)”, “Energy Efficient Industrial Facility (EVET)” and “Energy Efficient Product (EVÜ)”
successful works in three main groups, including [omitted], will be awarded.
