Alanya left its mark on the International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin). The 49th ITB Berlin Fair, held this year, was the focus of attention for professionals shaping world tourism. At the fair, which was attended by 10,096 tourism professionals from 186 countries, the Alanya Promotion Foundation dazzled with a cocktail hosted at its custom-built 33-square-meter stand.

WHO SAID WHAT?

Antalya Governor Muammer Türker: Everyone is meeting at the Alanya stand. There is a collective strength here. This synergy adds strength to the strength of Alanya.

“USE OF GAZİPAŞA AIRPORT”

“WE HAVE MADE CONTACTS FOR”

Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel: We are here to support our Alanya. We are signing important agreements. At the fair, which includes 180 countries, we are in contact with tour operators, agencies, and administrators. We have established important contacts with officials, particularly regarding the effective use of Gazipaşa Airport and the provision of all possible facilities.

“THE RUSSIAN MARKET WILL BE THE DECISIVE FACTOR”

Burhan Sili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD): We are in a state of unity as Alanya at ITB. All of Alanya's dynamics and everyone who has served or serves Alanya and has an emotional bond with it are here. We are conducting promotion with a specially designed 30-square-meter stand themed after Kızılkule, featuring an Alanya promotional video playing on dual monitors. I do not foresee a decrease in Alanya's visitor numbers from the European market. It will increase by a certain rate. The Russian market will be a decisive factor for our region.

“ALANYA BEAUTY RECEIVED GREAT INTEREST”

Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) President Faik Melih Kaptanoğlu: We had arrived in Berlin and commenced our activities four days before the fair's start date. The refreshments provided at our Kızılkule-themed stand, the gifts distributed, and the information activities conducted, particularly regarding Gazipaşa Airport, were highly appreciated by our guests. We carried out valuable work at the ALTAV Alanya stand regarding promotion through the press. In particular, the filming conducted by the Germany team of the Eurosport TV channel, which broadcasts the Presidential Tour of Turkey Cycling Race live, with the Miss Alanya promotional ambassador Michelle Flanders, was an important promotional activity. The Alanya cocktail that we organized experienced an almost massive influx of tourism professionals. Important figures such as Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and former Deputy Minister of Tourism Abdurrahman Arıcı visited our stand.

“RIVALS WERE LEFT IN THE SHADOWS”

Suat Çavuşoğlu, President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) Alanya Regional Executive Board (BYK): It was a great success for Alanya to conduct promotional activities at such an important fair, overshadowing many competing destinations. I congratulate everyone who contributed, especially the President of ALTAV, Faik Kaptanoğlu.

“A 40 PERCENT DECREASE IN THE RUSSIAN MARKET IS UNDER DISCUSSION”

Mehmet Ali Dim, Vice President of the Federation of Turkish Journalists and President of the Alanya Journalists Association (AGC): Professionals who shape world tourism met at ITB Berlin, which is referred to as the world's most important tourism exchange. There is a 40 percent decrease in the Russian market. This situation is concerning. Tour operators are making serious efforts. They are striving to attract tourists who are shifting toward Italy, Spain, Egypt, Greece, and African countries back to Türkiye. In this sense, it is very important that the fuel support announced by the Ministry be extended from 2 months to 12 months. The Alanya stand occupies an important place and is being talked about in Berlin. A stand worthy of Alanya has been established.
