Alanya Association of Tourism Professionals (ALTİD) President Cem Özcan thanked tourism enterprises that fulfilled their obligations within the scope of the fire regulation, stating that hotels and tourism enterprises in Alanya will be ready for the new season having completed all their responsibilities.

Reminding that the period granted to businesses with deficiencies within the framework of the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire has been extended until December 31, 2025, Özcan emphasized that industry representatives are utilizing this period effectively. ALTİD President Özcan stated that with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated July 1, 2025, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, additional time has been granted to hotel and villa businesses to procure materials and rectify fire safety deficiencies. Expressing that prior to the new regulation, many hotel and villa businesses in various tourism regions had ceased operations because they could not meet the technical requirements set out in the fire regulation, Özcan stated that difficulties in accessing equipment, particularly fire-resistant doors and special paint, have negatively impacted the sector, but tourism representatives have met the standards despite all challenging conditions. Noting that businesses have largely met the necessary requirements on many issues, primarily the fire-resistant door requirement, Özcan said, “With the extension of the period until December 31, 2025, many tourism businesses have fulfilled their obligations. However, we request that businesses still experiencing minor issues not be victimized, taking into account the general state of the sector.” Thanking all tourism businesses that fulfilled their responsibilities during this difficult process, Özcan emphasized that industry representatives will be safely prepared for the season. Underscoring that guest safety is above all else, Özcan stated, “Regulations must be implemented that are compatible with the realities of the sector, will increase applicability, and will not victimize businesses. The continuation of discussions held between public institutions and the private sector is very important in terms of both structural safety and economic sustainability. As ALTİD, we will continue to stand by tourism businesses.” -
