In this context, within the framework of the 2008 Energy Efficiency Year, a meeting on the subject of “2008 Energy Efficiency Year” was held on Wednesday, 25/02/2009, at 14:00 in the ALTSO Conference Hall, chaired by District Governor Hulusi DOĞAN, with the participation of Institution Directors, Mayors, representatives of Chambers and Civil Society Organizations, an ALTİD official, and an En-Ver official, to ensure that all necessary measures are taken by your Institution and Organization in line with the Prime Ministry Circular, to give maximum importance to water and electricity savings, and to evaluate the studies conducted as well as problems and suggestions.
District Governor Hulusi DOĞAN stated that compared to previous years, energy demand will increase this year leading to much higher electricity consumption, with consumption being five times the rate of production; he emphasized that increasing the energy production rate is not possible in a short time and that this problem can be overcome through savings. Noting that resorting to savings is the only solution and that there are measures that must be implemented in all living areas, District Governor Hulusi DOĞAN emphasized that "small measures taken individually, with details to be attended to, can lead to great savings, and as a result, both we and our country, as well as our nature, will benefit in terms of resources."
He said that our children need to be made aware of energy savings in our schools and at home, and that it would be correct to teach them how electricity and water can be used more accurately through lived experience.
Emphasizing that institutional employees also have responsibilities regarding savings, District Governor Hulusi DOĞAN stated that while evaluating the successes of Institutional Heads, the savings made within the institution will be specifically taken into consideration.
Stating that we have entered a period where everyone must be much more sensitive regarding energy savings, District Governor Hulusi DOĞAN importantly emphasized that he is open to all projects aimed at savings and that he supports the work to be done on this matter to the end, and noted that competitions on the subject of energy efficiency will be organized in our schools in the branches of Poetry, Composition, and Painting, and a trip to the Oymapınar Dam will be provided as a prize.
