A public cycling event on the 20-kilometer Alanya-Kestel-Alanya route was organized as part of the Tourism and Chefs Festival, held between April 15-22 with the support of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD). The program, which saw participation from a large number of cyclists, featured colorful scenes. In the event, attended by nearly 100 professional and amateur cyclists, 84-year-old cyclist Kudret Er outshone the youth. The spirited elderly gentleman, who participated in the event from İstanbul, invited everyone to engage in sports for a healthy life and stated that Alanya is a peerless city in every sense.
'CYCLING IS IMPORTANT FOR PROMOTION'
Mustafa Kemal Canfedai, the owner of Cartier Tour, who provided great support to the organization, stated, “We are constantly working and organizing various events to develop cycling sports in Alanya and to create cycling awareness among the public. By organizing ‘Respect to the Masters and Veterans’ gatherings from all over the world, we host national cyclists in Alanya together with their families. Ali Hüryılmaz, who has become a legend in cycling sports in Turkey and lives in America, is one of these names. These athletes, who cover a distance of 50-60 kilometers every day, talk about Alanya at every event they attend and promote Alanya through cycling sports.”
