The Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) General Assembly Meeting was held. As a result of the voting, the new president of the foundation became Adem Murat Yücel, who also continues his duties as the Mayor of Alanya. Making a speech following the election, President Yücel stated, “I would like to thank the former president of the foundation, Tourism Professional Faik Kaptanoğlu, for his service to date. Regarding promotional activities, I believe that guest satisfaction should take precedence as a priority. We will continue our work in both directions. I believe that we will have a successful process with the new list consisting of non-governmental organizations and individuals, based again on the principle of volunteerism. The work carried out and the projects produced to date will continue without losing momentum. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that I will be undertaking the presidency for a short period. On the other hand, I find it significant that our District Governor, Mr. Hasan Tanrıseven, will also be contributing as an Honorary President.”
“THERE IS AN ALANYA WORKING IN HARMONY”
Former Foundation President Kaptanoğlu also stated, “Due to my wife's illness and passing, as well as my own health issues, I have spent my last two years with difficulty, but with the support of my teammates. However, during my presidency, we ensured the awareness that an Alanya exists which works in harmony with all dynamics through the tourism promotion counselorships and consulates in our target countries. We have elevated our image to high levels.”
“ALTAV IS LIKE OUR CHILD”
Stating that he has always believed in the power of non-governmental organizations, Kaptanoğlu said, “We requested support, even if temporary, from President Yücel until we overcome certain problems. President Yücel, who stood by us during our difficult times, has taken over the duty to provide significant contributions. ALTAV is like our child; we have dedicated years to it. I thank everyone who has contributed.”
“WE MUST STAND BEHIND THE ADMINISTRATIONS”
Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) and Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED), stated, “The difference between today's list and previous lists is that it has been strengthened with institutions. This method is a manifestation of the discussions regarding the expansion of the umbrella organization. Everyone should take part in this matter, either materially or spiritually. Actions should be taken in line with the interests of Alanya, and it should not matter who is in management. This is the necessity of standing behind the managements that ought to exist. I wish success to the new management.”
