Meeting Point, a travel agency primarily operating in the European market, held meetings in Alanya. The delegation received information from Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, who is also the President of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), from the member of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), and the President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), Burhan Sili, and from the Vice Presidents of ALTİD and ALTAV, Mehmet Dahaoğlu.
During the meeting held at Alanya Castle, discussions were held regarding the ongoing tourism season and the planned activities for the coming years. Representatives from Meeting Point stated that Alanya is very popular in the European market this year, and they expressed their belief that Alanya's tourism will continue to progress.
Burhan Sili, the President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), made a statement regarding the meeting. He stated that Meeting Point operates as a tour operator in the European market under various brands, and said, "We held discussions with our esteemed Mayor, Adem Murat Yücel, regarding topics such as what new initiatives can be undertaken in Alanya, what can be done for Alanya to receive the attention it deserves from the European market, what the company's expectations are from us, and what our expectations are from them. It was a productive meeting. We reached a consensus on what can be done for Alanya to regain its prominence in the European market. Instead of receiving a concentrated demand from a single market, we are striving to be a tourism destination that attracts a balanced demand from Europe and various other markets. In this direction, we are continuing our discussions with representatives from different markets."
"EXCELLENT FIGURES FOR OUR REGION"
Following the meeting, Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel made a statement: "Local authorities are meeting with leading organizations in tourism, including ALTİD and ALTAV. Recently, we met with Corendon, and today we met with Meeting Point, a well-established company, bringing together both company officials and representatives from their travel agencies in Europe and our country. We discussed the current state of the European market and our goals for the coming years. It is extremely gratifying for us and for the region that Meeting Point, which had a capacity of 259,000 in 2019, a year considered the golden age of tourism, has already exceeded that number as of July 1st, even though we are only halfway through the season."
