The Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) participated in the second fair of the 2017-2018 fair season and the first fair for the Russian market. Alanya is participating under the umbrella of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism at Inwetex CIS Travel Market, which is being held between October 12-14 in Saint Petersburg, Russia's second and Europe's fourth largest city.

CONTACT IS BEING ESTABLISHED WITH MEMBERS OF THE PRESS

Various Alanya promotional products are being distributed at the Alanya stand where refreshments are being served, and statements are being given to Russian members of the press. Additionally, in addition to members of the press, contacts are being made for social media influencers and famous artists to carry out work in Alanya. ALTAV aims to participate in the Grand Turkey Festival, which is to be held in Moscow in March along with the Intour Market and MITT Moscow fairs, should it be planned by the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED).

“WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE EXTENSION OF THE SEASON”

ALTAV Board Member Gürol Birgen and ALTAV and Alanya Tourism Association (ALTİD) Vice President Mehmet Dahaoğlu, who participated in the Inwetex CIS Travel Market opening its doors for the 25th time, held a meeting with Russia-Belarus Tourism Counselor Alper Özkan. During the meeting, Özkan stated: This important fair has opened its doors for the 25th time. As Türkiye, we participate in this fair every year without interruption, and we received a 25th Year plaque from the fair organizers regarding this stability. The Türkiye stand, established in a 70-square-meter area, is welcoming guests at the entrance of the fairground. I believe that, in terms of content and period, the fair will contribute to winter tourism, the extension of the season, and alternative tourism.

“THERE IS RUSSIAN INTEREST IN ALANYA”

This fair, held in Saint Petersburg, Russia's largest city after Moscow, hosted over 5,000 visitors last year. As a result of the meetings, charter flights will be established to Kayseri for the first time. The Russian market is a volatile market, but with the support of the state and the industry, I believe we will exceed the figure of 4 million. Capacity increases point toward this level. We are doing our best to reach the figure of 5 million in 2018. Antalya, meanwhile, has surpassed its 2014 figures. As Alanya, there are participants from the health and accommodation sectors. Alanya receives great interest from Russians. In every event we hold in Russia, we always feel the presence and support of Alanya. In this fair as well, Alanya represented its region. In this regard, I would like to thank ALTAV and Alanya Mayor Mr. Adem Murat Yücel and his team for not withholding their support.

“2019 WILL BE THE YEAR OF TURKEY AND RUSSIA”

We can see from numerical data that advertising efforts conducted with tour operators are more successful and efficient. As the Ministry and TÜROFED, we organized a festival in 2017 that directly reached citizens, and we foresee that work will be carried out to continue this. This beautiful partnership between the Ministry and the private sector should serve as an example to all institutions in every sense and should be implemented in many regions as well. The year 2019 will be a mutual year of culture and tourism between Türkiye and Russia. We have already started the work, and we will easily see its impact starting from 2020.
