Waste materials, combined with pollutants from the seabed, are being collected and disposed of by cleaning teams from the Alanya Municipality and the Alanya Association of Tourism Operators (ALTİD) due to excessive wave activity. The pollution is particularly concentrated at the point where the Oba River meets the sea, and solidified tar waste in the Kleopatra region is also drawing attention. ALTİD Chairman Burhan Sili stated that the sea is returning pollution caused by human activity. Sili emphasized that the 12-month cleaning efforts are insufficient, and called for increased awareness in the city, which is dependent on the tourism economy, and urged people to report those who cause pollution to the authorities.

Waste carried to the sea by rivers, combined with seabed pollution, is being washed ashore due to excessive wave action, resulting in unsightly scenes. Cleaning teams from the Alanya Municipality Department of Environmental Protection and Control, along with the Alanya Association of Tourism Operators (ALTİD), are intervening to address the pollution on the beaches. The pollution is particularly concentrated at the point where the Oba River meets the sea, while solidified asphalt waste is noticeable in the Cleopatra region. Regarding this issue, the Chairman of ALTİD, Burhan Sili, stated, "The sea is returning the pollution created by humans to us. It protects the habitats of many living species."
Sili emphasized that the cleaning efforts carried out by institutions for 12 months may not be sufficient. "Today, items such as plastic bottles, tree branches resulting from pruning, tires, shoes, syringes, food and detergent packaging, and pesticide containers are being collected from the beaches. Waste dumped into rivers kilometers away from the sea is now appearing on our beaches. We live in a city dependent on the tourism economy. We need to increase our level of awareness. We must be careful for a more livable Alanya. Please do not hesitate to report individuals and institutions that cause pollution to the authorities."
