At the MITT Tourism Fair held in Moscow, the capital of Russia, the Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), and the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) completed their promotional activities. ALTİD Vice President and ALTAV Board Member Mehmet Dahaoğlu shared some of the meetings held at the fair as follows:
On behalf of Alanya, we participated in the meetings held at the fair with Burhan Sili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of ALTİD, and Mehmet Şahin, President of ALTSO. We also conducted a separate Alanya promotion at the Ministry's stand. The number of hoteliers from Alanya participating in MITT 2015, which will shed light on the future of the Russian market—a market that holds great importance for Turkish tourism and is undergoing a critical period economically—was also quite high.
“FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND DURATION SHOULD BE EXTENDED”
In a meeting held with Anex Tour Chairman of the Board Neşet Koçkar, he stated that he has been working very hard to land aircraft at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, but because he could not receive the necessary support, they have not made progress in this regard and have suspended their initiatives. Koçkar said that in this sense, important duties fall upon the airport operator TAV and local governments. On the other hand, in a meeting held at the Ministry level, he expressed his views regarding the fuel support to be provided to airline companies and the extension of its duration. He also warned that there is a crisis in the Russian market and that everyone must take the necessary precautions. We presented him with a handmade painting made from the silk cocoons we brought from Alanya as a gift.
“TARGET 650 THOUSAND PASSENGERS”
In our meeting with Tuncay Kilit, the Chairman of the Board of Kilit Global Turizm Seyahat Acentası, who manages the Teztour-Biblio Globus incoming, he stated regarding Tez Tour's economic situation that, despite having no responsibility, they are proceeding with a restructuring through their companies so that hoteliers do not face difficulties, and expressed that everyone needs to be patient during this process. He also stated that their holidaymaker targets for the year 2015 are around 650 thousand.
“FIRST FLIGHT ON MARCH 28”
Prince Group General Manager of Brisco Tour Operator Oktay Yıldırım stated that they had 70 thousand pax from Russia last year, that they aim for an increase in 2015, that they fly from 7 regions, and that their first flights will begin as of March 28.
“ALANYA’S RECOGNITION IS QUITE HIGH”
Intourist General Manager Şehmus Yüksekses, on the other hand, stated that they transport 25 percent of the passengers they bring to the Alanya region and that Alanya's recognition in the region is quite high. However, he emphasized that a decrease would be expected due to the crisis being experienced.
