The Mayor of Alanya Municipality and the Chairman of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation, Adem Murat Yücel, held consultations with representatives of travel agencies and tour operators that contribute to Alanya's tourism sector.

The Mayor of ALANYA Municipality and the Chairman of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), Adem Murat Yücel, visited representatives of travel agencies and tour operators who bring tourists to the Alanya region before the tourism season. During the visit, which was accompanied by Mehmet Dahaoğlu, the Deputy Chairman of ALTAV and the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), discussions focused on the more effective use of Gazipaşa Airport (GZP), early booking figures, and the preparations being made in Alanya before the start of the season.

'They brought over 1 million passengers.'

Stating that Coral Odeon brought 1,377,000 passengers to Antalya in 2018, and providing information about the established contacts, President Yücel said that he met with company officials Ozan Somaklar and Koray Çavdır, and that the company, which transported 90,000 passengers to GZP, will continue its operations in 2019.

Chairman Yücel continued his statement as follows: "We had a meeting with Sezgin Özer, the General Manager of Tez Tour, regarding their flights to GZP. In 2018, they brought 568,000 passengers to Antalya. Meeting Point FTI is the largest company in the German market. In 2018, they transported 1,010,000 passengers to Turkey. Even during crisis periods, this company has grown, and it demonstrated its support by never interrupting its operations during Turkey's difficult times. They also have hotel investments in Alanya. For 2019, they are aiming to increase their target and plan to reach 1.5 million passengers. They conduct their GZP operations from Germany with Corendon Airlines."

'FOR THE FIRST TIME, A LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR VISITED.'

Mahir Ahmetoğlu, General Manager of Summer Tour, stated that Alanya holds an important position in the tourism sector. In 2018, they transported 358,000 passengers to Turkey. They continue summer and winter operations from Azerbaijan to GZP. He expressed that it was the first time a local official had visited them, and that they were very pleased with the visit. We also expressed our mutual satisfaction.

We had a very productive meeting with Yıldıray Karaer, General Manager of Corendon, which played a key role in the establishment and development of GZP. Corendon is the largest tour operator in the Netherlands. In 2018, they transported 173,000 passengers to Antalya. Flights from the Netherlands and Germany to GZP continue. We learned that the reservation figures in the Netherlands are very high.
