Hungarians loved Turkey without visas

Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) participated in the Utazas Tourism Fair held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, which is the 14th link in its promotion chain. At the fair, which included ALTAV Vice President Kerim Kılınç and ALTİD Vice President Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Tourism Promotion Counselor Songül Camgöz and Ambassador Şakir Fakılı also visited the stand. The Hungarian government's decision to waive the Schengen visa fee for guests traveling from Türkiye was announced during Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu's visit to Budapest.

Genel

The Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) continues its Alanya promotions by opening stands at 24 international tourism fairs every year, as it does before the season. The Utazas Tourism Fair, held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, which is the 14th link in this promotion chain, was completed once again with the participation of ALTAV. Alanya was represented by ALTAV Vice President Kerim Kılınç. Providing information regarding visits made from Hungary to Türkiye, Kılınç stated that 100 thousand guests entered Türkiye in 2013, a 23 percent increase was achieved in 2014, and targets for 2015 are at a 20 percent increase level. Conveying the atmosphere of the fair and his impressions following the meetings he held, Kılınç noted the following:

“ANTALYA IS MAKING ITS PRESENCE FELT”

Companies such as Green Travel, Sun and Fun, and Neckermann are participating in the fair. About 20 hotel representatives from Alanya are conducting promotions with stands under the umbrella of tour operators. Hotels from the Antalya region primarily represent Turkey at the fair.

“PROMOTION THROUGH THE PRESS CONTINUES”

I gave an interview to Goutazas, one of Hungary's most widely read tourism magazines, and detailed why Alanya should be chosen for a holiday by highlighting its history, natural beauty, and the diversity of its accommodation options. Our promotions through the press continue. Additionally, on behalf of ALTAV, I invited Goutazas writer Szeszle Szilvia to Alanya. During her visit in May, she will photograph Alanya and write an article.

“AMBASSADOR AT THE ALANYA STAND”

We hosted Tourism Promotion Counselor Songül Camgöz and Ambassador Şakir Fakılı at the ALTAV Alanya stand, which also received support for its promotional activities from Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) Vice President and ALTAV Board Member Mehmet Dahaoğlu. We provided information regarding the latest developments in Alanya. We presented the gifts from Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel and ALTAV to Ambassador Fakılı.

“VISA FEE IS BEING REMOVED”

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu’s visit to Budapest and the mutual cooperation steps taken prior to ITB Berlin were welcomed positively by the Hungarians. Turkey's removal of visa requirements for Hungary last year was a significant factor in the increase in visitor numbers. This year, the Hungarian government is making a gesture by abolishing the Schengen visa fee for guests traveling from Turkey. This announcement was made during Prime Minister Davutoğlu’s visit. On the other hand, we were pleased that those who came to Alanya on vacation in recent years visited our stand in large numbers and that the majority of them expressed their satisfaction.
