The Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) continues its activities at the Adventure Tourism Fair ongoing in the city of Vilnius, Lithuania. The booth established under the Alanya brand is attracting great interest. Kerim Yılmaz, the Alanya Oil Wrestling Aga of the last three years, a tourism professional, and a member of the ALTAV Board of Directors, who is promoting Alanya at the fair, shared his impressions as follows: “In addition to agency and tour operator representatives, Trakai Mayor Edita Rudeline, Honorary Consul of Latvia Nurkan Şaşmaz, and Nazmi Uyar and Nimet Hacıkura from Alanya Municipality visited our booth. The Mayor of the sister city Trakai, Ms. Edita Rudeline, sent her greetings to Alanya, and I informed her about the latest developments. The Lithuanians generally stated that they love Alanya's sea, sand, and sun trilogy as well as its food. Among the issues they complained about most was the pressure experienced while shopping.”
Pointing out that 110 thousand visitors came to Türkiye from Lithuania last year, Kerim Yılmaz said, “The status of the Lithuanian market will become even clearer with the contacts to be made this weekend. Our visitors are generally satisfied with Alanya. Families with children, however, want more activities for their children. Lithuanians entering Türkiye show the most interest in the Istanbul, Kemer, and Alanya regions.”
Kerim Yılmaz also drew attention to the data obtained as a result of meetings held with agencies such as Akay Travel, Novum Turistik, and HSC Travel. Yılmaz stated that 65 thousand tourists from Lithuania came to the Antalya region in 2015, and if the image problem is resolved, the same number is expected in 2016.
