TÜROFED Board Member and ALTİD President Burhan Sili stated that approximately 5,000 new bed capacities will enter service in Alanya and over 30,000 in the Mediterranean basin during the upcoming summer season. Sili expressed that for Alanya tourism to maintain its competitiveness, the promotion of Gazipaşa Airport must be carried out effectively, the supply of beds should be halted for a period, and an increase in quality within facilities must be pursued. Additionally, he emphasized that contacts with the management of Akdeniz University Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vocational School must be increased to ensure the employment of sufficient personnel in the tourism sector.

Stating that approximately 5 thousand new bed capacities will come into service in Alanya and over 30 thousand in the Mediterranean basin in the upcoming summer season, Burhan Sili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), said: "Tourism construction is rapidly increasing, especially in the 3rd and 4th tiers in Side. This means that hotels selling at higher prices than Alanya may bring their prices down to Alanya levels. In order to keep competitiveness high, the dynamics feeding Alanya tourism should consider the following main headings:

1- We have designated Gazipaşa Airport as the primary promotional tool in the world fairs we attend. It is necessary for every individual with a tourism connection, from hoteliers to tradesmen, to explain this airport more effectively, especially to our guests arriving in Alanya via Antalya.

2- The increasing bed supply should be halted in the Mediterranean basin for a while. It is important to carry out studies aimed at increasing quality in facilities.

3- It is essential to employ personnel with the capacity and competence to serve tourism in every field, from hotels to city tradesmen. In this direction, contacts with the Akdeniz Üniversitesi (AÜ) Alanya Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası (ALTSO) Meslek Yüksek Okulu (MYO) management should be increased and supported, and the placement of personnel receiving education in the field of tourism within the sector should be ensured.
