Alanya's pride: GZP.

The ALANYA Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) participated in the FESPO fair held in Zurich, Switzerland, conducting promotional activities to increase Alanya's share in the tourism sector. At the fair, the ease of transportation provided by Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport was emphasized. It was projected that the number of passengers, which reached 260,000 in 2018 with a 30% increase, would also increase by the same percentage in 2019. Due to the fact that the majority of Swiss tourists prefer the central and western regions of Antalya, it was stated that the development of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, located in the eastern part of the region, and its ability to reach more passengers is necessary.

ALTAV: The development of Gazipaşa Alanya Airport and its ability to reach a higher number of passengers are essential.

The Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) participated in the FESPO fair in Zurich, Switzerland, continuing its promotional activities to increase Alanya's share of the tourism market. Mehmet Kural, a member of the Board of Directors, represented ALTAV at the fair. At the fair, which was attended by 60,000 visitors, Alanya's cultural, natural, and historical attractions were showcased, and ways to increase tourist flow were explored. ALTAV conducted its promotional activities under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

'THERE HAS BEEN A DECLINE SINCE 2014'.

Mehmet Kural, representing ALTAV, shared the following impressions of the fair: "We made contact with travel agencies at the fair, and we held discussions with local agencies to bring more Swiss tourists to Alanya. We distributed promotional materials prepared by ALTAV for four days. At the fair, which featured 600 companies, we had the opportunity to explain the easy transportation options provided by Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP). According to information we obtained from officials, the number of passengers arriving in Turkey reached 260,000 in 2018, representing a 30% increase. A similar increase is expected in 2019. As the sense of security increases, the number of tourists entering our country is rising accordingly. The tourism sector, known as "export in place," contributes to the economic strength of our country with every dollar earned. In this regard, the value of tourism must be well understood and adopted as a state policy."
'TOUR OPERATORS WERE BRANDED.'
The majority of Swiss tourists arriving in Antalya tend to prefer the city center or the western part of the region. This is because tour operators primarily operate in these areas. From this perspective, it becomes clear how important it is for the eastern part of Antalya, including the GZP area, to develop further and attract more visitors. Within this framework, we focused on promoting our brand to travel agents and tour operators during the fair. Additionally, we met with the Swiss Ambassador İlhan Saygılı, the Consul General in Zurich Asiye İpekçi, and the Tourism Attaché Hilal Demirel, who visited our stand to offer their support. We also gathered with other fair participants for a dinner, where we exchanged general observations.
