The Board of Directors of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) held its first meeting of the new term. Adem Murat Yücel, who is also the Mayor of Alanya, continues as the President of ALTAV in the distribution of duties, while Mehmet Dahaoğlu and a to-be-determined ALTSO representative were appointed to the role of vice president. Şükrü Cimrin was assigned as the treasurer. In this form, ALTAV did not make any changes in its first term management distribution. Making a statement at the meeting, President Yücel said, “I thank our members who provided efforts and support in the past term and wish success to our members who are among us in the new term. I believe that ALTAV will continue to do beautiful and successful work, just as it did in the past term. I believe we will undertake works that will add value to the socio-cultural situation and economy of the city. In our institution, which operates on the principle of voluntarism, we will hold our meetings every Wednesday. I believe that 2018 will be a good year in terms of tourism. We reach this prediction as a result of the consultations we have conducted with tour operators and agency representatives. HE DELIVERED GOOD NEWS IN SUCCESSION Gazipaşa Airport is growing through scheduled and charter flights from various cities of the world. This growth is very important for our city. Anex’s Azur Air will increase the number of passengers it carries to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport by flying with Boeing 757-200s instead of Boeing 737-800 type aircraft every day of the week. In addition to this, Coral’s Royal Flight will continue its flight program. Pegasus will similarly continue its scheduled Moscow program. Pobeda will continue its Moscow flights once a week, including Sundays, until the end of March during the winter season after the summer season ends. Pegas’s IKAR is starting flights from our sister cities Murmansk, Syktyvkar, and Orenburg with its Boeing 737-800s having a 189-seat capacity. Pegas’s Nordwind will also start flights to Russia. Romania’s flag carrier Tarom Airlines will fly from the capital Bucharest with Boeing 737-800s between June 4 and September 30. Negotiations continue with Buta Airways, a sub-brand of AZAL. There is a high possibility of flights from Baku between 3 to 7 times a week throughout the summer season. “APRON AND PARKING AREAS SHOULD GROW” There is great effort from our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in these developments. We thank him. Additionally, on behalf of my people, I consider it a debt of gratitude to the airport operator TAV for continuing its investments because it trusts Alanya. We are in constant consultation together with the Alanya Association of Tourist Hoteliers (ALTİD), ALTAV, local governments, and state institutions. In our promotion studies, we constantly try to emphasize that our Alanya is a safe and peaceful city. We will reach the targets we desire in terms of tourism and economy. We believe that the Ministry of Transport will expand the apron and vehicle parking areas of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport in line with the needs. In the coming days, we will continue our visits to tour operators, just as we have in the past,” he said.
