The opening of the THIRD Tourism Council was held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş. Representing Alanya at the Council, Alanya Association of Tourism Professionals (ALTİD) President and Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) Board Member Burhan Sili and TÜROFED Board Member Gülçin Güner attended. President Sili stated the following regarding the Council:
"THE MINISTRY WILL ANNOUNCE TO THE PUBLIC"
A total of 13 commissions participated. Each of these commissions conducted studies under topic headings they determined regarding Turkish tourism. We also took part in the accommodation commission. We produced a final report regarding the problems and the measures that need to be taken. The commission reports will be evaluated by the Ministry and announced to the public.
"THE TARGET OF 50 MILLION TOURISTS COULD BE BROUGHT FORWARD"
This workshop shed light on the structural problems and the adversities experienced in recent years and prior to them, regarding the current state of Turkish tourism. The point where Turkish tourism needs to reach in the next 5-10 years and the actions that must be taken were discussed, and reports were prepared accordingly. I hope that we will reach our 2023 targets of 50 million tourists and 50 billion dollars in tourism revenue at earlier dates.
"WE WILL PROGRESS RAPIDLY TOWARD THE GOAL"
The impression I gained from the sessions held by our President and our Minister of Culture and Tourism together with other ministers was that a consensus has been formed regarding how important Turkish tourism is. I believe that all the steps that need to be taken will be taken by the relevant ministries and the government. Our goal is to advance Turkish tourism as soon as possible. We extend our thanks to our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who contributed to this process, to our Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, to the other relevant Ministries, and to all the personnel serving in the Council.
