The East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition, EMITT, has concluded. At EMITT, which is among the world's most prestigious exhibitions, the Alanya Tourist Hoteliers Association (ALTİD) stand became a center of attention. 20 crates of Alanya bananas were distributed at the stand. Evaluating the first day of the exhibition, the Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of the Alanya Tourist Hoteliers Association (ALTİD) Burhan Sili stated that they participate in EMITT every year as ALTİD, and said, "Along with Alanya's hotels, the cultural values of our Alanya were also promoted at our 64-square-meter stand. Ornaments made from silkworm cocoons and silk fabrics produced on weaving looms were highly appreciated by the guests. In addition to our culture-oriented promotions, we promoted the Akdeniz University (AÜ) Alanya-Konaklı Congress Center and received positive reactions in this regard."
'IT WILL BE THE CROWN JEWEL'
Suat Çavuşoğlu, President of the Alanya Regional Executive Board (BYK) of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that fairs are sectoral meeting points, saying, "Studies were conducted for professional tourism professionals during the first two days. Especially the convention center will become the jewel of Turkey in the coming years."
'CONGRESS EXCITEMENT'
Özgür Arslan, Sales and Marketing Manager of Akdeniz Üniversitesi (AÜ) Alanya-Konaklı Congress Center, stated, "We explained the location and appeal of the Alanya-Konaklı Congress Center to visitors in detail. We received very positive responses from both domestic and international sources. Our congress center generated great excitement among agency officials specializing in congress tourism."
'WE AIM TO TRANSPORT CONGRESS GROUPS'
Marta Nettmann Roszkowska, Product Manager of the company Yobboo (Poland), who visited the Alanya stand for congress tourism, said, "Alanya is a region we prefer because air travel is affordable. We aim to transport congress groups to Alanya."
'COLORFUL IMAGES WERE CREATED'
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdurrahman Arıcı and Antalya Governor Sebahattin Öztürk were among the names who visited the Alanya stand. After chatting with Alanya tourism professionals for a while, Arıcı and Öztürk did not neglect to taste the Alanya banana. Governor Öztürk's offering of Alanya bananas to the stand visitors created colorful scenes.
'NO NEED FOR AN INCREASE IN BED CAPACITY'
The impressions of domestic and foreign tourism professionals are as follows: Stating that the increasing bed capacity is creating a handicap for Alanya tourism, Alaiye Hotel General Manager Selim Soylu said, "Alanya has no need for new bed capacity that cannot create a difference in terms of concept and quality." Noting that Gazipaşa Airport was promoted at the forefront during EMITT and that the most frequently asked questions by fair visitors were regarding this airport, Soylu stated, "Especially Anadolujet will significantly stimulate the domestic market. The increase in direct or connecting international flights in every period strengthens Alanya tourism." Expressing that the recent volatility in foreign exchange rates has created apprehension in the markets, Soylu made the following statements: "There is a concern that purchasing power will decrease. With the new regulation, holiday installment plans were reduced from 12 months to 9 months. However, despite these developments, the signals in the domestic market are positive. Compared to the previous year, growth is being experienced in the domestic market, while a stagnation is occurring in the foreign market."
'THERE IS 10 PERCENT GROWTH'
Wanda Kirazcı, Marketing Manager of Trek Travel, who brings tourists to Turkey and Alanya primarily from the Russian, Kazakh, and Baltic States markets, held meetings at the EMITT fair. Kirazcı stated, "Early booking figures have grown by approximately 10 percent compared to the previous year, especially in the Baltic States. We make an effort to carry out our Alanya operations via Gazipaşa Airport. In this way, we neither tire our guests with long road journeys nor fail to benefit from the low costs of flights at Gazipaşa Airport."
'GAZİPAŞA AIRPORT CONTACTS ARE INTENSE'
Stating that many tour operators they work with prefer Gazipaşa Airport, Long Beach Sales and Marketing Manager Hülya Şahin expressed that they are engaging in intensive contacts at EMITT so that more aircraft use this airport.
