The first World Health Sports Congress and Fair (Hestourex) held this year opened its doors at the Antalya Expo Center with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Supported by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Health under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hestourex held its ceremonial opening with the participation of a purchasing delegation of 4,000 people from 150 countries. The opening was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Antalya Governor Münir Karaloğlu, mayors, and representatives from the worlds of tourism, health, and sports.
MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PLAYED VOLLEYBALL
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who visited the Alanya stand, drew attention by performing a service on the mini volleyball court set up at the stand while showing close interest in the silk weaving loom, racing bicycle, and Alanya Castle model. Also delivering the opening speech at the fair, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they would increase golf and tennis areas in Antalya and bring a velodrome, which is important for cycling sports, to the region.
“150 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATED”
Sharing his impressions regarding the fair, Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) and Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED), stated, “The participation of approximately 4,000 purchasing officials from about 150 countries in the fair and the one-on-one meetings conducted will yield positive results for Alanya, Antalya, and our country. I believe that this fair, held in a 10,000 square meter area, will develop even further in the coming years as it highlights alternative branches of tourism. As the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), we have promotional activities in a section of our municipality's 150 square meter stand. As ALTİD, we are also conducting our promotional activities separately with our tourist facilities.” The fair will close its doors on April 9.
