The Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) held a stand and conducted promotional activities at the Tourest Tourism Fair held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. ALTAV official Gürol Birgen stated that 70 percent of the 56 thousand tourists who came to Türkiye from Estonia last year preferred Antalya, and that an economic stagnation is being experienced across the country. While Go Adventure (Prince Group), Nova Tours (Akay), and Tez Tour are among the tour operators with a large market share in the region, the general market expectation is shaping towards a 10 percent increase.

An Alanya promotion was conducted at the Tourest Tourism Fair held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. At the fair, where the Alanya Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) opened a stand, ALTAV official Gürol Birgen, who monitored the pulse of the market and shared impressions gained from the meetings conducted, provided the following information:
“THEY LOVE TURKISH SERIES”
Turkish TV series are attracting great interest in Estonia. In this context, and because we prioritize promotion through visual media at every fair, we gave an interview to the high-rated TV3 channel. We provided a comprehensive description of our country and Alanya. We also provided them with Alanya visuals to be used in the program. On the other hand, Arzu Emel Yıldız, the Cultural and Promotional Counselor in Helsinki, whose area of responsibility includes the Baltic States, also provided us with great support during the promotional activities we conducted at the Alanya stand.
“EMBARGO PUT THE ECONOMY IN A DIFFICULT POSITION”
I received information from officials that 56 thousand tourists from Estonia entered Turkey last year, and 70 percent of this figure preferred Antalya. The number of Estonian tourists going to Egypt is at the same level as the number of Estonian tourists coming to Turkey. An economic stagnation is being seriously felt across the country. The reason for this is the European Union (EU) embargo and the rise of the ruble. The Estonian economy stands on suitcase trade, which serves as a bridge to the EU, as well as meat and milk trade.
“GENERAL INCREASE EXPECTATION IS 10 PERCENT”
Tour operators Go Adventure (Prince Group), Nova Tours (Akay), and Tez Tour are the companies with the largest market shares in the region. Prince Group transports 180 thousand passengers from Russia to Antalya with its own airline, Metrojet. Additionally, they transport 20 thousand passengers from Latvia and Estonia to Antalya via direct flights with Onur Air. Akay Travel, on the other hand, expects a 20 percent increase in the number of passengers it transports, the majority of whom go to Alanya. In general terms, the expectation from this market is an increase of 10 percent.
